Preparation of a conceptual process design for a Coal-to-Liquids plant based on pre-selected coal gasifier technology.  Scope of work includes preparation of Process Flow Diagrams for each phase of processing (syngas cleanup, syngas compression, water gas shift, sulfur and CO2 removal, hydrogen purification, Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, power generation, wax hydroprocessing and fractionation, and catalytic isodewaxing), process simulation, preparation of material balances and product summary, preparation of utility balances for power, water and fuel, and capital cost estimate.

Provided engineering, design and project management services for the installation of 3.2 miles of 4-inch pipeline south of Commerce, Texas for Texas Energy Management LLC. The scope of the project includes a meter station with inlet separator and liquids storage tank at the tie-in to the main gas line of TXU, a 4-inch pipeline around the southern border of the City of Commerce, and a delivery meter station at the tie-in to an industrial customer's fuel system.

Waste Heat Recovery for Three Solar Centaur Gas Turbines

Provide detailed engineering and project management for a waste heat recovery unit for the combined exhaust from three gas turbines, using hot oil as the heat sink.  The hot oil is used as the heat source for four existing reboilers currently using steam.  Heat is also recovered for a gas stream used in regenerating the mol sieve driers. The scope of the project includes the heat recovery unit, hot oil pumps and surge drum, distribution piping and controls, and diverters on the gas turbine exhaust ducts.

Heater Modeling for Suncor

Provide rigorous computer models of Suncor’s delayed coker heater with the goal of increased cycle time between decoking.  Conduct on-site performance test to acquire consistent input data.  Analyze the kinetics of cracking through the heater, and provide recommended coil modifications to achieve goals by reducing heater residence time.  Provide rigorous computer model of the existing vacuum unit heater, and recommend alternative coil configurations for the replacement unit.

Maxus Irelyakh Field Study

Project Scope:           

Provide a front-end engineering package for aboveground facilities in the Irelyakh Field located in Siberia, Russia.   Scope includes wellhead and production facilities to handle up to 30,000 barrels per day and a crude topping plant to produce diesel fuel for local consumption.  Deliverables include process flow diagrams with material flow rates, specifications of equipment, and preliminary cost estimates.
